One Single Impression: Reign

Homesick

In Wichita,
where I'm from,
when it rains,
it rains with passion.

In Wisconsin,
where I lived once,
it was patient and persistent,

but in my alpine exile
it never reigns at all.

Note: Do puns count as valid poetic devices? Since it has been kind of a long time since I drew something just because I wanted to, I illustrated this one. Read more One Single Impression Poems Here.

I think Shakespeare was a punny guy in his time, so we're all entitled. Sometimes I wish the rain would reign.

Puns always count.

Puns when done well are a very effective literary tool, and so is irony which you captured between text and picture.

To me, the flower looks like a sunflower and yet, you write abut rain. I dig that irony.

From rain, come sunflowers. Well done Marilyn. Cheers!!

Sandy: Yay! I like puns.

Tumblewords: Thank you

Travis: This makes me happy

Matt: I was wondering if anybody would get that. Also, if you didn't know, sunflowers are the state flower of Kansas and the thing has been uprooted and potted... so, there was probably a lot more thought put into the drawing than actual time or skill.
