Did you know that there is an international blasphemy day?
Now my faith is a little on the thin side these days. If you are a spiritual kind of person you'd say I'm having a crisis of faith. If you are one of these Blasphemy Day guys you might say I've regained my senses. Either way, I'm not really one for offending the religious. There was a time I felt otherwise, but you know we all have loved ones who feel their faith very deeply and take it seriously. It's just not nice to mock them too much and also, however I wrestle with my own faith, I find the faith of others to be inspiring.
Still, these guys have a point about a lot of religion's tendency to turn the brain off. They have a great website. Here's a quote: "The objective of International Blasphemy Day is to open up all religious beliefs to the same level of free inquiry, discussion and criticism to which all other areas of academic interest are subjected."

Well, I don't have any particular religious faith. But I respect those who do, and hope that they respect me in turn.
According to some, I blaspheme on a daily basis. For me, it's just talking and using language in the way the seems appropriate to the subject and my frame of mind.
I'll skip it but enjoy the moxy of those who won't!
