Isn't it a little odd that we call a party where we give a lot of gifts a shower?
When I was in college I lived in the married student housing and most of my friends were international students. One of the women in our group had a baby and so there was a shower for her. Everybody was invited, men and women alike. As we were getting ready for the party my Vietnamese friend asked if I was looking forward to the baby wash. He thought we were going to have a party and give the baby a bath... I guess it's okay that we don't do that, given what a bridal shower would be like.

Happy MM! That was funny ... well done!
I invite your blog readers to shower some attention on our efforts to Stop Black AIDS!

HA! I remember asking the same question when I was young.
I've seen some bridal showers where a real shower might be in order if only to sober up the participants.
Thom: Thanks :)
Villager: Thank you. I'll stop by and take a look.
Travis: I don't know why I never asked that question myself.
Jamie: I can hardly remember my bridal shower but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with alcohol or just how long ago it was. The pictures sure make the event look forgettable. For my second wedding I didn't bother with a shower. Seemed kind of mean to put my friends and family through it all again.
Oooo. I posted those answers using my secret identity. Please pretend it was just regular old me. Okay?
That's funny. I was living in Ireland when I first heard the term "hen party," and I thought that was a pretty apt description!
Sandy: Is Hen Party sort of like a girl's night out? It's a great name.
that;s hilarious!
