Thanks for this, Marilyn. That is exactly what poetry feels like sometimes.
Most of my poems aren't very poetic but I like them. Anyway, I wrote this after thinking about the way a friend complained to me that he didn't get why poetry didn't just out and say whatever it had to say.
Wow. I never thought of it that way, but that pretty much does describe a lot of poetry.
You confuse me so.I still don't get it at all!Punching shoulders? Whaaah?
