Janna of The Janaverse created this recipe for a really spicy burger. Whall of The Blog of Whall would not take up the challenge, even though he started it by daring Janna to eat a spicy burger in his hometown.
Jasmine and I both ate this burger, which is not only spicy but also very tasty. Janna should write a cookbook.

Yay! You liked it!
Did you follow the recipe exactly?
What kind of cayenne powder did you use?
What kind of cajun seasoning did you use?
Did you remember to mix it with the hamburger AND the onions AND the barbecue sauce? In the amounts I mentioned?
Were you able to find habanero jack cheese?
Do tell! I must hear all the sordid details.
The picture looks yummy.
Can't wait to see Whall's reaction. :)
How exciting!
Thanks for trying it! :)
We used generic cayenne powder and Tony Cacheres creole seasoning (I will use something else next time because this just had too much salt in it and not enough spicy) We did mix it with the burger and the onions but I used just the cayenne in the BBQ sauce which was a generic hickory sauce that worked really well with the bacon. Also some tabasco in the onions.
The rolls were homemade, brushed with butter and toasted. Jasmine ate 3/4 of her burger in one sitting. It was a really big burger. I made up four burgers so we can have another for lunch tomorrow if we want.
Also, we each had very large glasses of vanilla milk. We aren't quite as macho as you are.
Wow!
I think Janna should take her burger recipe and send it to Food Network challenge.
That looks delicious!
You torment me with your tormenting torments. Can I help it if I don't need nuclear weapons to make my taste buds work?
wow!
that's a spicy meatball!
er, burger!
i would need to take out stock in Pepcid and Tucks before attempting that sucker!
kudos to both you & Jasmine for tackling this gastronomical incendiary device!
Janna: Also, it was regular pepper jack. It's easier to find and we already knew we liked it.
Travis: It was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. Janna didn't just create another spicy burger; otherwise why bother with the bacon and oniony things?
Daisy: It was
Whall: I am sorry for my torments, but you are missing out. You eat tacos for breakfast, don't you? You live in Texas? You are a manly conservative person? Jasmine and I think you would like it if you tried it.
Mo: We did, both of us, experience a little heartburn. I think that when I make these again I will ease up a little on the cayenne in the BBQ sauce and find a better brand of cajun seasoning. We will definitely be eating these again. Not on a regular basis, as they are rather expensive, but on special occasions.
That burger looks great and Jasmine is adorable. Have a great weekend Marilyn. Cheers!!
I love the look on her face! She should write that cookbook and sell it to all of us in the blogosphere who need a little help in the kitchen from a smart and talented girl!
I salute your bravery in the face of incredible spicy burgerness.
I am drooling
(is she thinking....this looks good...take the picture already mom so we can eat!)
