I painted this in GIMP both to familiarize myself with that program and so I would have something for my Manic Monday post. For my first painting using that software, I'm pretty happy with it. I need to understand GIMP if I want my future Blender projects to look their best. Happy Monday.

An intriguing image. Liked it.
Wonderful way to illustrate a proverb:
Where would they live?
Happy MM! I've not heard of GIMP before ... but, your image is very creative!
I invite your blog readers to remember why the caged bird sings.

Good job.
I remember that line from Fiddler On The Roof! Tevye to Chava: "A bird may love a fish - but where would they build a home together?"

Must be something to be artistic like that. Very pretty.
Wow, that's really good.
I'm impressed.
Sure beats the heck out of the silly little cartoons I draw on the Jannaverse. :)
Not sure what GIMP is, but your picture is cool.
I like it.
Anthony: Thanks :)
Jamie: In a floating nest?
Villager: Thank you.
Star: Thanks
Tink: It was also quoted in Everafter, which is what reminded me of it.
Gayle: That's the sweetest thing anybody has said to me in days. Thank you.
Janna: I love your cartoons.
Jeanette: Thank you
Leah: Thank you
I can't get the hang of gimp. I don't know why...
Open source software seems to take a lot of effort to learn... well, more than most of the commercial stuff. I have more effort than money and I also have a lot of experience with graphics software.
Still, I spent a lot of time improving this today. I wasn't happy with the bird's legs and tail or the nest.
Coincidentally, I've been learning gimp also. I did my last two graphics in it. I find the tutorials are sufficient, although they could be spruced up a bit more. Maybe that's how I could contribute - make some better video tutorials worth watching.
I've been a Photoshop user in the past and could do bare minimum decent work, and some of the shortcut differences in GIMP keep getting me. I say "DOH" a lot. :)
I like it. Nicely done!
I was looking for a good book to help me with my diet. In the end I googled it and found this site http://www.hungryforweightloss.com.
They are giving away a free ebook called "365 tips for healthy living". I didn't expect it to be any good because it's free but it's actually brilliant so I thought i'd share it here :)
