She's three and a half inches tall. I almost sold her to a friend of mine already but at the last minute it was discovered that the home of the person my friend wanted to give her to had cats that like to knock over things. I immediately thought of Isis (one of Morgen's kitties) for some reason. This is Jasmine's favorite sculpture so far.
I've been having some problems with my most recent batch of clay and so I haven't produced anything I really like in the last couple of weeks. It was making me crazy till I did a little research and found out that almost everybody has trouble with the "natural" colored Fimo.

it looks taller...and very cute...
Ah, that looks adorable!
Oh he is for sure cute!!! You're getting good! What're the wings made out of? They're cool
Lol...he's kinda cute.
Katherine: I'm trying to get better with the pictures. Scale is hard to show and still get in detail. It sits easily in the palm of one hand.
Daisy: Thank you.
Mags: I am getting better all the time. The beads for scales were an experiment that had mixed success. On the one hand they aren't as evenly distributed as I had hoped. On the other hand they are really on there good and they look nice on this small of a sculpture. Especially in the light.
The wings are made of fantasy film, decorative fimo, beads, paint and wire. Fantasy film is a high end kind of crafty cellophane. You glue it to the wires and then heat it up with a candle flame for some fantastic color but then the wings have holes in them which I don't really like that much. Seems like it wouldn't be aerodynamic. So I filled in the holes with the clear fimo and decorated it with more of the fantasy film and a tad of paint and some no-hole beads. I like making wings a lot and have a few made that are waiting for sculptures or dolls of some kind.
Just Me: Thanks :)
looks like candy!
Your talents are amazing. I am in awe of what you can do and the sense of humor that comes through. I love it.
Nice dragon!
Whall: Now that you mention it, she does.
Sandy: Thank you so much. That's a huge compliment.
Travis: Thanks :)
That's an incredible sculpture, Marilyn! Perfect for Ruby Tuesday! I wish you well with the homeschooling. I think it's hard to spend so much time teaching the kids. Does your state require you to reach certain goals with the kids or anything? But I'm sure you make a good and responsible teacher... :)
Teach: Our state requires standardized testing every two years. I actually file our records with a charter school (I think that's the right term but I could be wrong) that has more stringent requirements than my state for things like records and curriculum. I like this school because they also offer some support when I have questions or problems.
As for being a responsible and good teacher, I don't know. Sometimes I feel pretty good about it and sometimes I don't, but I know my kid better than most parents and I am honestly trying to give her the best possible education. I want her to go to high school but she's not sure if she wants to go or not. We have a few years to figure that out.
Now I'm craving strawberry ice cream
