Okay, we didn't really dance with them. Unless you count watching a few of them run away as dancing. It was raining when Andy took this picture on the last day of our trip as we were hiking out. The rain made the picture a little blurry. I counted what I thought were fifteen elk (they were scattered in and among trees) in this heard including a bull that was making some noise. Mini didn't see the elk but she sure wanted to check out the noise.
When Andy visited he gave me the pictures from his camera. My battery started to run out after about a week so Andy got some pictures of things that I didn't.

I live in ELK Grove and there used to be elk here, a long time ago. I imagine they looked like your elk. It must have been an amazing and majestic thing to see this herd in the wild. Thank you for sharing.
It really was. We had seen a few single elk on the trip but were afraid the dogs had scared off any groups. I think Andy said they don't usually gather that early in the year. Anyway, we were pretty close to this group and got lots of pictures but the rain made them all a little blurry.
They are huge. Way bigger than remembered.
